A residential backyard hardscape project in upstate New York made beautiful use of our historic, salvaged materials. These used stones were repurposed from across the northeast United States. Reclaimed medina sandstone and Olean Oversized street brick pavers are elegantly designed for a backyard patio and seat wall at this countryside estate.

The Patio
The antique brick patio was installed with a soldier course border. The Landscape Architect and install contractor decided to use Experienced Brick and Stone’s reclaimed Olean Oversized street brick pavers. The benefit of using these types of brick are the consistency, making it an east install! As you can see, the install crew used the materials perfectly – taking the extra time to get lines perfect.

The Seat Walls
The pair of seat walls at the end of the street brick patio were made from salvaged medina sandstone. The seat walls are mortared medina cobblestones, giving it a rustic look from top to bottom. The mason worked with the homeowner to cap off the seat walls with reclaimed medina curbing – long pieces that make perfect bench tops. These focal points are great additions to any patio hardscape project.
